Recap: Celtics Pull Away From Bucks, 100-91

Somehow the recap was deleted: comments posted on column!

For half a game, there didn't seem to be much defense in a back and forth contest between the Celtics and the Bucks.  One figured that whatever team got tough on defense would win.  However, both teams clamped down in an ugly third quarter, so little was settled;  the Celtics bench won the game when they continued to clamp down at the start of the fourth quarter, and scoring some points.  By the time the starters came back in at about 6 minutes, all they had to do was hold steady, and for once, they did.

For once we rebounded almost as well as the other team, 47-49.  As usual we got clobbered off the offensive glass, 11-6.  We had 30 assists tonight, a good number, and we needed them, as the Bucks got twice as many fast break points, and way more points in the paint, 50-36.   The Bucks also had twice as many free throws, which one would expect for the team that attacked the basket  more.  We won the TO battle for once, 12-15.

Rondo started the game with a hot hand, but basically stopped shooting after the first quarter. He did seem to run the team well, notching 14 assists, and some key plays. With Allen shooting poorly, 1-8, a lot of points had to come from our front court.  Pierce had a great night, scoring 25 points,  shooting 10-15, and grabbing nine rebounds.  Stiemsma had an amazing game, chipping in four rebounds, four steals (!), five blocks (!!!) and six points, but he was outshone by Garnett's 16 points, including key baskets down the stretch, ten rebounds and six assists.  Bass started slow on the boards, but dug for 10 rebounds.

Reply jlil89 11:13 PM on March 22, 2012  Dooling! He was our other hidden badger tonight. I was actually highly impressed with him tonight with Bradley there on the floor to show him how it's done. Smart rotation by Doc. It's about time!

Reply Franklin 12:06 AM on March 23, 2012  I would say this was one of the most complete games of the season. A real balance for the Celtics. I saw some issues, but overall good showing by everyone. Even Dooling, sorry Shawn.lol

That's a good slogan you need to copyright that!

Reply Greg 01:56 AM on March 23, 2012  Happy that the C's stopped the hot Bucks. Good win, and we move on.

Reply jlil89 02:34 AM on March 23, 2012  The hidden badger... omg that's classic lol
