Celtics by the numbers: Rebounding leads to victory for the Mavs

  • When Dirk pulls down 16 rebounds against your team, it won't be pretty. It was just another story from last nights game in Dallas, overall the Celtics lost the boards game 52-44. Pietrus brought his "A" game to the glass with 12 boards for the Celtics.

  • Another solid percentage from the Celtics defense. The Celtics held the Mavs to 40% shooting. It was another loss. C's have the defensive chops, but not a complete effort.

  • The Celtics had 16 turnovers, and Pierce had five of them. Not the best offensive flow, and what do you expect without the engine of this team, Rondo.

  • Terry went off behind the arc 4/7, the Celtics can't allow that to happen for anyone.

  • Only 17 assists for the Celtics, and another sign what Rondo means to this team.

  • The bench scored 24 points, and that's not so bad when Bass is out, and Wilcox needs to start. Johnson, and Moore score 14 of those points.

Bradley, who isn't one tenth the offensive player Rondo is, plays without a leash. That's no insult to Bradley. Rondo is a force. What kind of team puts a leash on their best player?
