Rivers proud of his guys

"I was proud of our guys, I thought we fought back into the game, got a lead, [but] then they went on another run, and it’s tough when you get down like that and you have to fight your way back. It’s funny, [Wednesday] we were horrendous [in a loss to the Pistons]. [On Thursday], I thought overall, it was two great defensive teams and it came down to make/miss at the end of the game, if you want to simplify it."

Doc your right there, but come on. Run simple stuff. You have the best pure point guard in the league. Allow him to lead, don't micro manage Rondo . I would live, and die with Rondo as a  leader. Rondo was going off on his team last night. Not in a bad way.  Buto n the defensive end, Rondo was barking just like his big brother Garnett. Rondo wanted this win, and just like Wednesday it wasn't good enough.

"I thought we had some great shots, they just didn’t fall," said Pierce. "I had a couple looks that I normally knock down; I know Ray had some good opportunities, and [Rajon] Rondo the same. Then you come back and play defense for 22 or 23 seconds, and you don’t get the rebound. It saps the energy."

I love Paul, and Ray. But they forced a lot of shots, and that spells trouble to me. The Magic between Rondo, and his teammates died in the 4th quarter.  He put together the comeback. The Celtics grabbed a 61-60 lead in the 4th, and they lost control soon after. In the final minutes, Pierce, and Allen tried to play hero ball, and it wasn't the right way. I will say they had good looks though. Maybe if they make a three,or two the Celtics hang on, and send the game to overtime.

I'm feeling very weird about Allen and Pierce. This team seems to have so many punchers on the offensive end, yet lacks offensive punch. What a story this season has been. For me it began with The Trade. I felt that the team lost it's 'trust' then. They've tried to hold onto it, but as soon as one feels like maybe it's back, it seems to melt away again.

Got to attack the basket. Got to extend the floor on defense. Rondo has answered a lot of questions this week, but Pierce and Allen have posed a lot of new questions.
