I love the choice of music, because it brings out something D'amico said at Celtics.com last night: that Rondo looked like he was playing in slow motion. Usually people will pick out aggressive, uptempo music for a compilation like this, but you bring out this other thing that Rondo has in common with Bobby Orr - that he's the fastest player out there, but when he's on, he looks like he's playing in slow motion. Larry had that gift too. I think a lot of it has to do with an almost preternatural attention to detail. Rondo does a lot of very subtle things with his body language and especially his hands to confuse defenders. One on of the breakaway assists to Wilcox, he threw the pinpoint bounce pass with a weird overhand motion that suggested to defenders that he was dishing it off to Ray Allen, who was streaking down into three territory.

And that's another reason why you want a pass-first pg to look to score. His ability to manipulate and freeze the defense using fakes, using more and more subtle fakes, grows with the credibility of his various options, including scoring options. Will he pull up for the J? Will he suddenly accelerate and drive? Will he pass of to this side, or that side, or to someone streaking behind me that I don't even know about?
