Give me some 'Moore' of that! C's comeback after being down 27 points

This was a familiar theme all season. The Celtics fall down by double digits early (27) in this game. The Celtics went on a run in the third chipping into the Magic lead. The Celtics down 15 lost control of their run after the Magic looked primed to take the Celtics out of the game for good. In the first half Pierce looked awful! I was a little worried that Pierce was back to his out of shape self. Pierce played 44 minutes which is a lot these days, Pierce scored 24 points, and he dished out 10 dimes. Rondo is out with a wrist injury, and last game Bradley set the tone for the Celtics on the defensive end, and tonight it was the rookie Moore capping off a Celtics comeback in the third, and going into the 4th. Moore had 16 points, and he knocked down 4 three's without missing a single one of those three's, KG had another gem on the defensive end. KG blocked 4 shots, and he was a stud guarding Howard tonight.

The Celtics lost the rebounding game 46-37, but in the second half it was all Celtics on the glass. Bass hit two clutch jumpers late in the 4th. This was a great win, and despite the five game losing streak early this season. This team is truly deep, and truly talented. The Celtics have done all of this without Rondo, and that's a great sign. I wish they have  won these games  with Rondo, but maybe Rondo is sitting over on the side line wanting to come back. Wanting to take this team over, even if it's not given to him. This is a great win, and tomorrow another test. The Celtics rank second in the league only allowing 88 points a game, and the Celtics still have a defensive connection that many teams don't have . I'm starting to believe this team is for real, and this team just came in out of shape. KG's looking like the Garnett of last season, and the same for Pierce. This team has pride, and toughness, and a three-game winning streak.

What a good call, Shawn. We've seen this script so many times this season, but always it has ended up with us not being able to come back all the way. But what happened this week was truly Celtics history. But where do we go from here?

What has really happened is that Rondo being out has given Pierce total control over the team, and he clearly likes it that way. And the rest of the team seemed to respond in a way they have never responded to Rondo's leadership. We've seen Rondo lead the team back time and again this season, just like Pierce did, but we've never seen the team respond to Rondo that way.

So now what? Obviously there is only room for one Dawg on this team, and that Dawg is Pierce. Is Rondo supposed to tuck his tail between his legs now?

I'll say what I've said before. Our best player is Rondo. Our second best player is Pierce (I would have said Allen before). If these two guys can achieve the kind of synergy with each other that the team reached as a whole tonight, the result can be even more powerful. But I see no sign of that happen. I saw Pierce go over to the bench and Rondo tried to high five him and Pierce barely touched him and quickly moved off. Later Garnett came over and gave Rondo a big high five, but the point was made. This is my team, buddy.

I've not seen any indication that those two guys can coexist. I see this situation blowing up and Rondo being traded. I hope they prove me wrong. But what I saw this week is there is not room for two lead guys one this team. Sadly.

I don't like the sound of that. I won't make any judgement until I see those two on the court together again. Pierce has been sharing the ball more and not forcing up very many terrible shots at all. I think him and Rondo can work a synergy together by trading off powerful offensive energy.

On a good note: Let's get pumped for the C's! Just like Garnett in this post game interview.

The Celtics have become the defensive guru's again. They hound you, and they play every passing lan.

It's fantastic, isn't it? Doc was so happy after the game! Shut down a good team twice in one week and it's NOT a coincidence.

But as far as the team is concerned, the cat is out of the bag. We won't accept shoddy defense anymore this season! We know what they can do.
