Celtics Beat Post New Entry

Rondo, and Garnett come alive, and the Celtics beat the Wizards

Posted by shawn cassidy on January 1, 2012 at 9:30 PM

Rondo picked  up his 14th career triple-double,and the Celtics won 94-86. We've been wanting a game like this from Rondo. It's a perfect line, and it was a joy to see tonight.

Rajon Rondo had 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds while Kevin Garnett had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics over the winless Washington Wizards. The victory was the Celtics' second straight after losing their first three. The Celtics seem on the verge of setting up a nice win streak to bounce back. The Celtics had control of this game much of the way. As for KG it was awesome to see him playing at a top level again. Please stay tunned. Will have Celtics by the numbers, and the good, the bad,and the ugly up in the coming hour.

Rondo needed a good game, and so did KG. We got it,and I hope they build off of this.

Rondo had a great game; yes, he is the key night in and night out. I agree with Paul- I'm afraid counting on the Big 3 is not an option this year. I respect them all, but they look like their time has come to an end. I've been watching some of OKC's games- OMG. Their scoring ability and shot blocking is phenomenal. And the Heat... enough said. But, you never know how the game can change in the end. Looking forward to Pietrus. Brandon Bass looks awesome; what a great trade. Stiesma is impressive- what could he look like by the end of the year?

EVen more exciting, I thought, was that Rondo seemed to do a very good job on John Wall defensively, even though Wall got a nice stat line (and a lot of that came when Rondo was out of the game).

Tomorrow night is a big challenge. Back to Back. Rondo will have to carry an even bigger load, especially scoring, without allowing Wall to run wild.

Celticsz, I think we can count on the Big Three, but not for as much as we did in the past. If Rondo, with some help from younguns like Bass, can bring more to the table, we can still be a tough team.
