Following rumors that Rajon Rondo could get traded, Garnett was asked his opinion of the young point guard. Garnett said Rondo is the smartest player in the league, as well as “the most stubborn, the most probably hated.” Said Garnett: “I’ve grown to understand Shorty. His greatest gift is his greatest curse. We as players try to help him to understand that. Me, more or less, I see a lot of myself in him. I’m not as cocky as he is. I like to actually set aside ego when I step on the court and let the play do the talking. WEEI.com
KG to me is poetic, and he gets his younger brother. I think sometimes people forget how good this kid is. They look at stats, and that's how they get their conclusion on Rondo. If you see you Rondo every night, and you watch with a close eye. You see the gift, and the curse of Rondo. He clearly sees things that his teammates can't grasp. KG has the same fire as Rondo, but they control, and release it in different ways. Rondo seems like the type of person who may bottle his feelings, and emotions, and KG is out there in the open showing the world his full range of emotion.
I would take Rondo's curse over any other player in this league. The mainstream media will paint a bad picture of Rondo if they want. I can tell you every great player has been full of emotion. They want to win,and they want to be great. Rondo will do both.
