Dooling and Wilcox looking for jobs

I love both of these guys for different reasons. Dooling was a good friend to Rondo, and they belt something special, plus Dooling is a good guy to have on your team. Wilcox was SHAQ 2.0 for Rondo, and Wilcox was at his best when Rondo was on the floor. That was another example on how Rondo makes role players better. Where was Wilcox without Rondo in the second half of the season? The Celtics are full at the moment with 15 rosters taken, and with both players being veterans, and with the Celtics looking to rebuild. Both players would mean more to a contender.

Like many veterans, former Boston Celtic guard Keyon Dooling is in wait-and-see mode with NBA training camps kicking off in about a month.

The uncertainty as to whether he will be signed by an NBA team has led the 13-year-veteran to give some thought to taking his game overseas this season ... possibly to China.

"I have to play this year," Dooling told CSNNE.com in a phone interview on Monday. "I've made that decision. This year for sure, I am playing."

Orlando had expressed interest in Dooling early in free agency, but at that time he said he wasn't ready to commit to the Magic.

"I thought the free agency would pick up and I would have a better opportunity to win," Dooling said. "A lot has changed from the first couple of days of free agency, until now."

From the Boston Globe's Gary Washburn in his "Sunday Basketball Notes" column:

"Also on the market is former Celtic Chris Wilcox, who said he would like to return to Boston, but that’s highly unlikely with the new regime. Wilcox said that recovering from aorta surgery affected him last season and he promised to be in better shape this season."
