Doc thinks the Celtics deserved to lose

Blind mice can stumble and find their way. Broken clocks can tell the truth twice a day. The Celtics stumbled but they couldn't find their way. The truth behind it all? I have no damn clue. Doc pointed towards the players for this, and I agree. But Doc had his hand in this game as well. The Celtics were torn apart on the glass 45-28. I thought Danny signed two big men for a reason? Why not use them when the game was out of hand. Doc also decided to bench Jeff Green, for what reason? I don't know, and I haven't seen any reports on why he chose to do that.
"We messed the game up, our spirit. We thought we were going to win the game when we got the lead," Rivers told reporters. "You could see it. I told our guys at halftime [and] you could see it in the middle of the second quarter. We went from being a solid good-looking basketball team to showtime, and I believe in the basketball gods. I think when you mess up the game, the game messes you up, and I thought we deserved [to lose]. I really did."
"It doesn't matter at the point in the season. It really doesn't," Rivers said. "But it does get old and you can just see it. And once you do it, you can't turn it back on. But I thought once we activated them, you could see the difference in the speed, the way they were playing and the way we were playing in the fourth quarter. We were trying to, 'Come on ... ' no, you can't do it now, you turned it off. And you turned them on. So I thought they ran a great play at the end, but we were asleep and we deserved it. I thought we absolutely deserved to lose the game. Whether we won it or not, we deserved to lose the game."
"Asked if the time of the season -- Boston is still jockeying for crucial playoff positioning -- played a role in his frustration, Rivers said it didn't, stressing instead how consistently seeing the lack of effort can "get old."
Silence the pianos and bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. This team felt like their were dead last night. Not for the entire game, but long enough to coast through and lose the game.
Perhaps I can be quite insensitive when the Celtics lose games they shouldn't. But there's a limit that most of us have. Since the Celtics enjoy whipping us into a huff and puff, and that's the kind of stuff I've had enough of. Suffering from the agitating buffered fluff the Celtics offer us. The Celtics like to give their hearts and not give up most nights. So it has never made sense on how they lose games like this. Games like these are a team effort. From the coaching staff to the players. Nobody is safe in my eyes. Mistakes came from both sides.

why bench Green? I would guess he wasn't rebounding
I would have been okay with that move if Doc went big. He had Bass in over Green, and Bass was getting killed on the glass.
