All energy, gathered and spread through the intensity of one look. The block out of an artist. He wants the ball as bad as you. The eyes,  and obsession, A soul’s beautiful expression. KG's expressions last in our memories, and their etched in our souls. Each of us have a memory that lasts in our minds about KG. I have one that always circles my mind like sharks waiting for you in the ocean.

It was a play that happened in 2008. It was his first game against Minnesota. He suffered an injury that would sideline him  for 9 games, but he came back in to finish the job in Boston. He had the key steal to seal the one-point win. He was grabbing his jersey popping the Celtics logo with genuine pride in the Celtics name.

Movement and stillness. Colors that mix, Shapes drawn by heritage, By history and ancestors. Taste of salty tears, Only they remain the same, As innocent as they were When you were only a child.Sincerity I do hope to find, But also the bizarre that moves my heart. Alive are your eyes, All of their energy sent to me, The intensity of one look. The Celtics heritage can be watched through the eyes of KG as he chases down a loose ball, or when he blocks a shot. I can' tell you how many times I look for inspiration. I turn to images of KG. When the coffee hasn't hit in the morning when I need to be ready for work. I try to channel the energy, and intensity of KG.

RedsArmy had posted an article yesterday about KG slowing down. This is a part of the article.

I specifically remember late in the game watching this. KG had a wide open path to the basket, with only Jameer      Nelson in his way. But instead of driving, he fired up a quick off-balance shot that clanked off the rim. Normally I’m happy with KG taking a jumper, but not in that instance.

But when the game was anyone’s for the taking, Garnett made sure it was his. All his.

He had 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, providing the kind of steady production down the stretch that was absolutely critical to the Celtics to win and will remain a vital component for future success.

“When he slowed down,” Rivers said, “the game changed for us.”

Garnett said he had no idea that the Celtics would make him such a priority on offense down the stretch.

“Usually times like (that), Paul (Pierce), Rajon (Rondo), each one gets in another gear,” Garnett said. “You could see . . . we had a little lackadaisical presence. Everyone reaches within themselves to try pick it up.”

This is just another part of the adjustment of being an older player.  He’s going to be 37 before the season is over, but his production isn’t slowing down at all.  In fact, he’s doing more with less time on the floor.   He’s playing two minutes less per game, but his average is up slightly.  And that means his per-36 numbers are up even more.  He’s averaging 19.6 ppg per 36, which is higher than his career average and only a point off of his first season in Boston.

Everyone slows down when they get older.  For a guy as intense as KG, that could be a good thing.

KG is a master of age. His will to be the best, and to win has beaten the odds of age.

Only KG could have restored Celtics Pride, because he loves the game like Russell did, and part of his love for the game is a deep affection for its team aspect, and that's a lot of what makes him such a powerful player at his age.
