Celtics Title Town

Bass will return to the Boston Celtics, and it's great, but at the end of the day, the Celtics need some more rebounding. Let's the only real issue I have with Bass, his defense is a bit shaky, but maybe another year, and full camp. Bass could follow KG's lead. I hope that Bass goes back the bench, and KG moves back to power forward. Who will start at center? Good question, because the Celtics are young up front, and their is no way Fab Melo starts at center. But may start, we just don't know.

I think the Celtics sign a big to start. It could be Camby, or they sign Wilcox again. Those are the two options that I see for the Celtics. I lean towards signing Wilcox. Chris was big with Rondo, and it could mean more this season.

If Bass stays in the starting lineup, which seems like the only option when looking at the roster today, it would seem the Celtics will keep Garnett at the center position, despite his reluctance to call himself anything but a power forward. Boston is still a bit thin at center, but the positional flexibility of their bigs allows them to mask that in a league devoid of pure centers. The Celtics can get by with good power forwards, and hopefully Sullinger brings it.

The Celtics only have two bigs that we know that can play. Bass, and KG, so either Danny adds another, or the rookies must step up.

Bass admitted  all season long that it was a bit of a culture shock stepping into the Celtics' locker room. Bass struggled at times to come with proper help defense, allowing some easy buckets at the rim that drew the ire of his teammates, but he tightened that up as the season went along. You have to believe he'll hit the ground running in Year two with a full camp. Again I can't stress enough how much rebounding the Celtics need. Bass didn't provide anything last season. Five or six boards a game, just won't cut it.

Bass proved to be a better one-on-one defender, allowing a mere 0.673 points per play, which ranked in the 95th percentile among NBA players, according to Synergy Sports data. Opponents shot a low 31.8 percent against Bass, who thrived as a post defender despite often giving up size by masking that with his athleticism. Bass makes his money on the offensive end. He started the season out as Boston's 6th man, but because of JO,and Wilcox ending their seasons early. Bass joined the starting unit. So now Bass is back, and Green is more than likely. So now Ray must pick.
